The Notion of the Jurisdiction in the Hands of the European Court of Human Rights and the United Nations

My article on  “The Notion of the Jurisdiction in the Hands of the European Court of Human Rights and the United Nations” (LHD, Volume 12, Issue 142) primarily aims to highlight central role of the case-law of the European Court and increasing influence of UN actors upon the advancement of the idea of jurisdiction in two different areas of focus: human rights and criminal justice law. It will be demonstrated in this study that the interpretation of jurisdiction on the whole may be utilized for not only protecting human rights but also safety and security of individuals.

After his graduation from the Faculty of Law in Ankara, he received his second master’s degree from the Leicester University Faculty of Law, UK in 2008. He delivered lectures in Fordham School of Law in the USA. He completed his dissertation research for an associate professor degree in New York. He speaks Turkish, French and English very fluently. 

He has extensive experience in different branches of public and private international law. He has been engaging in legal matters within the framework of national and international firms and institutions such as the Turkish Council of State and the United Nations for 15+ years.      

He wrote four books and numerous articles in journals with referees (mostly in English) dedicated to existing and emerging legal challenges and their effective solutions. Dr. Telli has a great capacity to produce legal documents, articles, reports and all related contents in particularly English and Turkish. He plays a considerable role in a number of leading international peer reviewed journals as referee. He also has extensive experience in negotiation techniques and diplomacy. Currently, Dr. Telli delivers legal and business consultation to foreign companies on their investment projects in Turkey. He is married with two children.

  I. Introduction  At the outset, it is useful to note that the business-friendly environment in Turkey attracts quite a lot of attention from entrepreneurs. Turkish national authorities have improved more effective mechanisms by designing new mechanisms over the years. Trading facilitator mechanisms are considered as an important component in the investment system. From that sense, the available article basically aims at examining the potential role of the “direct sale mechanism” instituted by Turkey as a critical contribution to Turkish markets.  In doing this research, Chapter II will attempt to understand the circumstances requiring the need for a newly-born “direct sale mechanism”. Union of Arab Securities Authorities: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities

  There is widespread consensus that the Union of the Arab Securities Authorities is regarded as one of the most landmark international organizations dedicated to the improvement of capital markets of Arabic countries.  My new article on the Union of Arab Securities Authorities: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities basically provides a brief outline of the most chronic failures of the Union mechanism together with its distinctive features. The potential contribution of mapping and reforming the Union machinery is also be discussed for the development of global and regional financial integration. In the existence of very limited academic literature about the Union of Arab Securities Authorities, strength and weakness of the Union machinery is examined in the light of similar global international organizations. My article is published within the context of new volume of (2024) Journal of Banking and Finance
